Custom eLearning for Child Advocacy Training
Building Accessible Online Training for Sensitive Interview Protocols
The Children’s Advocacy Center of Pennsylvania partnered with d’Vinci to create an online Minimal Facts Interview, or MFI, Protocol Training for professionals who respond to allegations of child abuse.
The two-hour training included 10 custom eLearning modules designed to equip learners with the skills necessary to conduct effective interviews, particularly when working with children with special needs. To help measure learning outcomes, the course also included pre- and post-test surveys focused on learner confidence and competence in the subject matter.
Instructional Design for High-Stakes Learning
Because of the sensitivity and importance of the subject matter, d’Vinci used a structured instructional design process to shape the training. We collaborated with PennCAC stakeholders and subject-matter experts to organize the content into focused modules, write storyboards, and build a learning experience that supported clear understanding and practical application.
The course also included nine video interviews featuring a CYS caseworker and Pennsylvania police officer sharing their expertise in conducting minimal facts interviews with caregivers and children with special needs. These expert perspectives helped ground the training in real-world experience and reinforce key concepts throughout the course.
Articulate Storyline Design and Development
Using PennCAC’s brand guidelines, d’Vinci created an accessible Articulate Storyline design template with clear navigation, readable layouts, and WCAG-aligned color contrast. The approved design direction was then used to develop the full module series in Articulate 360.
