d’Vinci Interactive is proud to highlight its continued partnership with Common Ground Alliance (CGA) to advance damage prevention education—this time with a focus on the next generation.

As part of CGA’s Next Generation Education Taskforce, d’Vinci is developing an interactive learning experience designed specifically for students in grades 3–5. This new module introduces young learners to the importance of underground utility safety and the critical role of the 811 “Call Before You Dig” process.

Built using Articulate Storyline 360 and Vyond, the 15-minute experience blends storytelling, animation, and game-based learning to make complex safety concepts accessible and engaging for younger audiences. Through interactive decision-making, mini-games, and knowledge checks, learners are encouraged to think critically and adopt safety-first behaviors.

To guide development, d’Vinci created a detailed storyboard that serves as the blueprint for the full experience—mapping out narrative flow, character dialogue, learner interactions, and embedded assessments. The result is a thoughtfully designed module that aligns learning objectives with age-appropriate engagement strategies.

“Damage prevention starts with awareness, and that can begin at any age,” said d’Vinci Lead Instructional Designer Christine Kurtz. “By reaching learners early, we’re helping build a culture of safety that extends into the future workforce and the communities they live in.”

This initiative builds on d’Vinci’s broader work with CGA, including a comprehensive microlearning curriculum for excavation professionals, and reflects a shared commitment to safer communities through education.
