Our Approach to Accessible Learning
Our team designs with ADA, Section 508, and WCAG 2.2 AA guidelines as our primary technical benchmark and supports organizations working to meet accessibility requirements.
Creating Equitable Learning Experiences
Every learner deserves access to clear, engaging, and meaningful learning experiences, regardless of ability, learning preference, device, or environment. At d’Vinci, accessibility is not an add-on or a final checklist item — it’s built into how we design, develop, and deliver learning experiences from the start. We understand the deep connection between accessibility and usability. Designing for learners with disabilities often creates clearer, more intuitive experiences for everyone, including multilingual audiences, mobile users, and learners navigating distracting or high-demand environments.
For more than 30 years, we’ve partnered with corporations, government agencies, non-profits, and educational organizations to create custom eLearning, educational websites, videos, and learning platforms that prioritize usability, inclusivity, and compliance. Our team designs with ADA, Section 508, and WCAG 2.2 AA guidelines as our primary technical benchmark and supports organizations working to meet accessibility requirements.
Our Approach
Our approach combines instructional design and strategic expertise, accessibility best practices, and thoughtful user experience design to support a wide range of learners. Standard accessibility practices across our solutions include:
- WCAG 2.2 AA color contrast and readable typography
- Keyboard navigation and screen reader compatibility
- Clear heading structures and semantic layouts
- Descriptive alt text for images and interactive elements
- Closed captioning and transcripts for audio and video
- Accessible navigation, form labeling, and interactive controls
- Cognitive accessibility considerations—clear language, consistent navigation, meaningful content structure, and manageable pacing
- Responsive experiences across devices and screen sizes
- Testing for usability and accessibility through iterative review cycles
We also consider cognitive accessibility by using clear language, consistent navigation, meaningful structure, manageable content pacing, and instructional design strategies that reduce unnecessary cognitive load.
Accessibility works best when it is planned early. We collaborate with clients during discovery and design to identify audience needs, technology constraints, compliance requirements, and long-term maintenance considerations before development begins. We recommend the right solutions for both learner success and long-term sustainability.
How We Create Accessible Learning
Accessibility is integrated throughout our full development lifecycle — from storyboarding and instructional design through visual design, UX, development, quality assurance testing, Learning Management System deployment, and post-launch support. Our production workflows include accessibility requirements at the planning stage, structured accessibility quality assurance reviews, and testing against established standards before delivery.
We validate accessibility through both automated and manual testing practices, including keyboard-only navigation reviews, screen reader testing, focus-order verification, color contrast evaluation, and usability testing across devices and assistive technologies such as NVDA screen reader and JAWS.
Accessibility standards and technologies continue to evolve, and so do our practices. We continually refine our workflows, testing approaches, and design strategies to support emerging technologies, assistive tools, and learner expectations.
Our Commitment
Whether we’re developing custom eLearning, public-facing educational websites, videos, or LMS platforms, we seek to create experiences that empower all learners to participate fully and confidently. That commitment reflects who we are as inclusive learning architects and trusted partners in education and training.
