Overview
This three-day course explores all of the major elements of PHP programming. This includes learning PHP syntax, working with variables, functions and arrays, file and directory handling, working with forms and email, and interacting with databases.
Easy-to-understand code samples are used to demonstrate the many elements and techniques used in PHP programming. After completing this course you will be ready to immediately use PHP to create impressive, dynamic websites.
On completion of the course you will be able to create PHP scripts that use variables, arrays, and functions. You will be able to use PHP to manipulate files, process forms and validate their information, and add, update, and delete database records.
Instructor Biography
David Schooley
David Schooley has been a d’Vinci Interactive trainer for 2 years teaching our Introduction to PHP course. He has 6 years combined personal and professional experience in PHP programming with MySQL. He also has programming experience in Coldfusion, Flash, Ruby, ASP, and various basic languages. At d’Vinci, David is referred to as our "database guru" due to his extensive experience in MSSQL and MS Access. As with all of our instructors, David uses PHP on a daily basis, and has worked on high level PHP projects such as e-learning courses for the National Institute of Health and the Center on Congress.
David graduated from York Technical Institute in 2004.
Prerequisites
- Intermediate to Advanced understanding of HTML
- General understanding of programming concepts and practices
- General understanding of how MySQL / SQL Database operates
Aditionally a general understanding of Dreamweaver is helpful as it will be the authoring tool used in class.
