Video Shoot at Johns Hopkins

Baltimore, MD — The d’Vinci team continued its pursuit of interesting stories for the Genomic Careers* website by traveling to Johns Hopkins.
Working with Rooy Media, Vince and Vijay captured video interviews of doctors who focus on bioethics, and who do research and provide treatment for Sickle Cell Anemia. They interviewed Dr. Ruth Faden, Dr. J.J. Strouse, and Dr. Lanzkron, among others. Also, while in the infusion area of the hematology department, the d’Vinci team had the opportunity to interview Sickle Cell patients who were receiving treatment. This helped to round out the experience and make the story more personal and compelling.
The next step is for the video to be edited and then it will be included in the Genomic Careers website which is currently in a pre-release beta version.
Contact Vince Hellane for more information about this project.
* d’Vinci is working with the NIH, NHGRI, ECIB to create a video intensive website that will educate high school and college-aged youth, as well as science teachers and counselors, about the many career opportunities in genomics.
