d’Vinci Interactive is looking for someone special.

This is a choice position for the right person. It will put ‘you’ in a position to be an integral part of a dynamic, growing company.

There will be long learning curve: we do a lot of different things and this position involves being part of most facets of the business.

In this position you be working very closely with the president of the company, learning all facets of what we do and assisting with whatever needs to be done.

Initially, this could include:

  • Effectively answering phones (and making positive initial impressions with callers)
  • Being involved with sales calls, preparing proposals, meeting with clients to prepare meeting notes, interviewing and preparing news and blog entries
  • Assist with marketing and other sales related activities as required
  • Working with our instructors to facilitate our software training courses

Tasks may vary depending on experience and strengths.

Eventually, this could include:

Making sales, managing projects, working with clients, writing proposals, searching for and hiring contractors, hiring, managing day to day operations, managing co-workers.

In the words of the president, he is looking for someone who:

  1. Is bright, a quick-learner, and able to multi-task. Must be able to make thoughtful, well-reasoned decisions. Must be conscientious and not be afraid to ask questions. I expect a respectable degree of humility.
  2. Desires to be part of a dynamic, fun team doing cutting-edge work.
  3. Has an ability to work with clients in a professional manner.
  4. Has the ability to participate in meetings and conduct interviews, taking notes, and writing summaries based on those notes. This could include preparing task lists following project meeting and writing press releases/blog entries based on interview with co-workers.
  5. Has an ability to work with me, as my right arm, assisting with and ultimately handling, much of what I do.

I am looking for someone who not only can work with me, but you must be someing I can work with. I am not always the most effective communicator.  The best candidate will be comfortable asking questions, and be quick enough to anticipate what needs to be done without waiting to be told what to do next.

More than experience, I am looking for someone who is a good fit with our culture and who can see themselves becoming an integral part of our team, at the highest level.

Other tasks might include anything that needs to be done. Being a small company, this could include research, writing content, organizing files or data, filing, quality assurance, cleaning, or a host of other tasks....

In lieu of the above, an equivalent amount of experience will be considered. This might include management or sales experience with an advertising, marketing, graphic design, website development or eLearning firm.

Small, Progressive Company:

d’Vinci Interactive is a ten-person, dedicated team that develops high caliber Web- and CD-based eLearning and promotional products for clients across the U.S. We have developed a strong portfolio and a terrific client list that will attest to the strengths of our designs and how great we are to work with. Our projects range from small websites, to complex web applications, to large and complex eLearning contracts representing 10,000 or more man-hours.

If you are looking for a corporate job, this is not it. If you would like to make a significant difference in the growth of a small company, this position may be of interest. If you feel you would fit into a small, dedicated team that tries to do the best it can for its people and its clients, and if you have a sense of humor, creativity and a strong work ethic, you may find this position worth considering.
We are a casual operation, and our philosophy is that creativity and one’s best efforts come by providing a positive work environment.

Compensation:

Salary will depend on your experience.

Benefits:

d’Vinci offers flexible work schedules, health benefits, and financial and time-off bonuses based on personal and company performance.

Environment/Culture:

It is obvious after a quick visit to d’Vinci that we are not a typical corporation or even a typical small company. The camaraderie among employees is strong, with a real sense of family. Much of the workspace is open, which naturally facilitates free communication about projects (and, admittedly, a bit of chaos on occasion). The sense of creativity is immediately obvious.

We like to consider ourselves a progressive, family-friendly company. As such, we believe in providing a positive work environment with plenty of opportunities for personal growth and job satisfaction. We offer flexible work schedules, within reason, and extensive training, when appropriate.

If you think you are interested in this position, be sure to get a sense of our culture before applying.

Our Location:

d’Vinci Interactive is currently in the process of moving to the Arts and Entertainment district in downtown Hagerstown..
